The Swedish Club of South Australia is a not-for-profit organisation based in Adelaide for Swedes living in South Australia, their families and anyone else who is interested. The purpose of the club is to build and maintain the Swedish community in South Australia and encourage networking between swedes and others interesed in Sweden and Swedish culture. Thereby we want to maintain and promote Swedish culture, traditions and language.

The club organises social events in and around Adelaide, as well as events celebrating Swedish traditions such as Midsummer and Lucia.

We encourge everyone who is interested in Swedish culture and/or language to join the club. The club is dependent on membership fees for its survival and your support is greatly appreciated. Read more about membership>>

After five years with heaps of activities like picnics, Midsummer, Lucia, Christmas party, sponsor activities, crayfish and Viking parties, the Club now takes a break from all activities.
The current committee and personell of the school have worked hard organising all these events and unfortunately, despite several calls for help, has other voluntary work been very limited to say the least.

The committee now feels that it's time for new fresh blood to continue the Clubs activities. We, therefore, encourage all members and friends to step up and take over the relay baton.
If this doesn't happen, the current committe will continue for another year just to keep the Club ”alive”.
We will, however, not organise any events and, therefore, we will not charge any membership fees.

The Club's financial status allow us to pay all mandatory fees and insurances without any additonal funds.

We think it would be very sad if we can't dance around the Maypole or listen to the Lucia song, so we once again appeal to all members and friends to come forward and take over the activities and running of the Swedish Club. Please help us to maintain Swedish traditions in South Australia.
