The Swedish Club of South Australia is a not-for-profit organisation for Swedes living in South Australia, their families and anyone else who is interested. The purpose of the club is to build and maintain the Swedish community in South Australia and encourage networking between swedes and others interesed in Sweden and Swedish culture. Thereby we want to maintain and promote Swedish culture, traditions and language.

The club organises social events such as pub nights as well as events celebrating Swedish traditions such as Midsummer and Lucia. We want to be known for events that are FUN, CARING and WELCOMING, to come to!


We need your support - Become a member today

To run the club and organise events costs money, therefore we need the support that your membership fee provides.

Anyone who is interested in Swedish culture and/or the Swedish language is encouraged to become a member.

To become a member you will need to

1. Send an email to treasurer@swedishclubsa.com with your contact details. Pleas ad "new membership" in the subject field
2. Make the payment

Membership fees 2010:

$20 for a Single Adult
$40 for two Adults or a Family

Money Transfer
We prefer if you transfer the money to our account. Please transfer the requisite amount to:

Please make sure to quote your name on the remittance.
Money Order
We also accept payment via money order. In this case, please contact treasurer@swedishclubsa.com for more information.

What is my money used for?

To run the club and organise events cost money. We require MEMBERS and memberships FEES to be able to meet the expenses to run the Club.

Membership fees help cover expenses such as

  • Venue hire

  • Insurance

  • Permits (eg liquor license for events)

  • Hosting our website

  • Equipment - such as Lucia dresses for the children


As a MEMBER, you and your family can be PROUD that you have provided vital support for the club and helped ensuring that the Swedish Community in South Australia is able to maintain its Traditions, Culture and Language.
